Download the New Logic Pro for iOS

Apple has recently released a new update to its music-creation app, GarageBand, which is now available via the Mac App Store. The latest version of GarageBand for Mac has been updated to version 10.4.9, while the iPad edition remains unchanged at this time.

For those who are interested in creating music on their iOS devices, Logic Pro for the iPad is a $50 annual subscription that can be downloaded directly from the App Store. Existing users of the Mac version will be happy to know that the update is free and can be downloaded from the Mac App Store.

One of the new features included in this latest update is the Quick Sampler plug-in, which allows users to quickly create sampler instruments from virtually any sound. Additionally, the Mastering Assistant has been updated with a professional palette of intuitive sound-shaping tools, delivering a release-ready mix.

For iPad users, Apple has added a new Recorder mode that enables them to create instruments and drum kits by directly recording audio with the built-in microphone or a connected audio input. This allows for instrument creation to happen just about anywhere.

The Mastering Assistant now includes a series of sound-shaping tools, as well as the 'Hybrid Textures' Sample Academy pack. Breaker time- and pitch-morphing plug-ins are also available, along with 2-bit float recording on supported devices.

Another exciting feature is Slip and Rotate tools, which allow users to move the contents inside a region independent of their position on the timeline. This new functionality is now available on both Mac and iPad versions of Logic Pro.

The update brings several new features to both the Mac and iPad editions of Logic Pro. Apple has also added a series of unspecified bug fixes on the Mac, while Logic Pro has gained a Mastering Assistant with sound-shaping tools.
